Jungle Butty Poem by Clive Culverhouse

Jungle Butty

Rating: 4.5

bread butter and greens
a salad of vines and trees
a coleslaw of densely grown leaves
and boy did I want to add cheese

though tougher than tough
it was horrible enough

but oh no!
a rainforest sneeze!

Never thought I'd see the word butty in a poem. I'm a north of England lad and use the word all the time.

Never thought I'd ever see a poem using the word Butty. I'm a north of England lad and it's what we all call them from here.
